HOW I CELEBRATED MY MOTHER'S DAY.. - Barr Christy

On my way to church this morning, I noticed a child crying, looking so unkept, so tattered along the Akenfa road.  I was so sure he was hungry, Infact he looked it, as a Fidan I knew this was another clarion call to service and luckily my understanding husband released me to attend to the child while he drove off to church with the kids.

Upon further interrogation with the child, after I bought biscuits for him, I found out his father stays at Igbogene with two other wives, his mother got lost in the bush and uptill date is no where to be found.

He claims his father drove him out of the house, looking at the state of the child, i took him to the only Goverment owned childrens home in the state, but was advised to get a police extrac at the poluce station. I took him to Akenfa police station and then to Igbogene police station and thereafter  I called our chairperson.

We tried to contact the father, through his uncle but they have all refused to turn up.
The most touching part of it all is that he's epileptic and the attack came at the police station.

I shall follow up again tomorrow at the police station, we shall get to the root of this matter, am sure we will get a better understanding of the child's state when we see the father tomorrow. I will definitely update you my sisters.

Baby whose Step Grandfather allegedly chopped off his genital organs received N6m

- N6m Donation: FIDA Bayelsa Chair commends First Lady
The International Federation of Women Lawyers, FIDA Bayelsa State branch has commended the Bayelsa State Government for a donation of N6 million  to Baby Oyeintari Michael Jackson for a constructive surgery abroad.

Dise Ogbise-Erhisere, Chairperson FIDA Bayelsa State branch made the commendation during the official handing over of the money and traveling documents to the  parents of Baby Oyeintari by Dr. Rachel Dickson wife of the Bayelsa State governor at Government House, Yenagoa.

Mrs. Ogbise-Erhisere, thanked Dr. Rachel Dickson for her efforts towards providing medical succour financially to the 10-month old Baby  whose genital organs were allegedly chopped off by his step grandfather.

She described the kind intervention of the Governor's wife as a milestone in the protection of children who suffer various degree of violence.

The FIDA Bayelsa Chairperson while speaking with journalists said the grand father who allegedly chopped off the genital organs of Baby Oyeintari when he was nine months old will soon be charged to court explaining that the police are done with their investigations.

In her words 'this is a success story for FIDA, we are happy we have a governor's wife with a large heart, a woman who will do anything for the Bayelsa Child.'
The reconstructive surgery when successfully carried out will restore his manhood and make him live a normal life again.
