Kim Kardashian , Rihanna , Kylie Jenner and Katy Perry are among the big name celebrities who will be wowing us on the Met Gala 2017 red carpet tonight.

The most exclusive, glamorous and extravagant event of the fashion calendar, formally known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit, takes place in New York City on Monday evening with a superstar A-list guest list featuring the biggest names from movies, music, television and the modelling world.

Stars have been jetting into Manhattan ahead of the glitzy gala, which kicks off from midnight UK time and promises to be a fashion feast for the eyes.

It's best known as the Oscars of the Fashion World where the stars parade down the red carpet in a variety of eye catching and often downright bizarre outfits.

Recent fashion ensembles to make headlines around the world include Rihanna's bright yellow furry trimmed 'fried egg' look and a pregnant Kim Kardashian's figure hugging florals, rather unflatteringly compared to Mrs Doubtfire.

Kim's one of the most famous attendees of the ball every year; she made her debut in 2013 and has attended twice with husband Kanye West, although this year she's flying solo as Kanye will be back in LA looking after the kids.

Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, worldwide, has revealed in a new book how he married his wife despite being poor and having nothing but his “brain” and “foot wagon”.

In the book, Adeboye tells the story of his amazing transformation from debilitating poverty into a powerful man of God.

Entitled Stories of Pastor E. A. Adeboye, the man fondly called Daddy GO shares his stories through testimonies compiled by seasoned author and journalist, Bisi Daniels.

The 350-page book, a collection of testimonies emanating from his sermons, was released last week to mark his 75th birthday.

THE PROMISE OF REDEMPTION CAMP

Adeboye said that at some point in the early days, he was worried about the growth and expansion of his ministry, but God assured him of His support.

God promised to build him a city which is now the world-famous Redemption Camp.

“God’s response to me was, ‘Son, don’t ask for house because I have decided to build you a city’,’’ he said.

“That response was beyond what I could comprehend. After this encounter, I began to dream of a city where everybody would be a Christian; a city where there would be no molestation; a city where there would be no power failure or water shortages. God began to stretch my mind to see a city where His praises would fill every mouth.”

The church now has over 32,000 parishes in Nigeria, over 700 parishes in the United Kingdom, and many others spread across over 196 countries including Samoa, Fiji, Serbia, Pakistan, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.

LEAST QUALIFIED SUITOR

When Adeboye wanted to marry his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye, he had nothing, the author writes.

Adeboye said he was clearly the least qualified suitor among those seeking to marry his Mummy GO, as she’s fondly called.

“There were many of us contesting for the hand of my wife. I wanted to marry a beautiful princess but I was the least qualified among the many suitors.

“Out of the number, three of us were in the forefront. But I was a student, while one of us was a lawyer who owned a car. All I had was a “foot wagon” (move around on foot). I decided to let her know my financial status. I said to her, ‘Please listen. I have nothing, no money, no house, no influence, nothing’.

“I told her that if I had anything at all, it was the little brain God gave to me. ‘I have nothing to offer you except myself. If you will marry me, you will have me to yourself completely,’ I said.

“Surprisingly, she replied, ‘Because you are so honest, I will marry you‘.” Continue reading here

OMG, we couldn’t be more happy for Miss France, Iris Mittenaere, 24, as she’s been crowned our new Miss Universe on Jan. 29 and she looked so thrilled and surprised. The big event went down at the Mall of Asia in Manilla, Philippines where 2015 Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, 27, was able to pass the crown over to Iris in front of her hometown audience.

Everyone was so happy for the beauty as she took her walk of triumph along with her new sash and a bouquet of flowers, waving and blowing kisses to the audience as she soaked in her big night. Fences stars Denzel Washington and Viola Davis have been nominated for lead actor and supporting actress, while Naomie Harris and Mahershala Ali have both been nominated in the supporting categories for Moonlight, which tells the story of a boy growing up gay and black in America.

La La Land received two nods from SAG, with its two stars, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, having been nominated in the lead acting categories.

Other movies to have been handed two nominations include Captain Fantastic, Lion, Hidden Figures and Florence Foster Jenkins.

Meanwhile, Andrew Garfield (Hacksaw Ridge), Emily Blunt (The Girl on The Train) and Dev Patel (Lion) are among the British nominees for the SAG Awards, which are typically seen to be an indicator for the Oscars.

Ariana Grande was named Artist of The Year at the American Music Awards on Sunday evening, while Zayn Malik scooped New Artist of The Year and Drake bagged his first ever AMA.

Early on in the night, Drake who got a leading 13 nominations, won best rap/hip-hop artist, song and album for his best-selling Views, which earlier this year became the first album to earn one billion streams on Apple Music.

"For our genre, I like to keep things exciting and keep making music... more like this is coming soon," Drake said, accepting the award.

But pop singer Ariana Grande, 23, was chosen as Artist of The Year, beating Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Gomez.
