New York Supreme Court Banned Burna Boy from US and Canada

A US Supreme Federal Court in New York has slammed an injunction against musical artist Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu popularly known as Burna Boy.

The injunction prevents him from performing at any event venue or any form of recording anywhere in USA & Canada for the time being unless he settles with the New York- based promotion company, Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, founded by promoter/producer, Niyi Fatogun.

Burna Boy is an independent artist signed under the Burna Boy Ltd and released his OAS LP under Spaceship Entertainment label that presently holds the copyright to all his music.

He was sued in the Federal Court by Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, on allegations that he signed a contract for 2016 USA & Canada Tour, failed to turn up, postponed the tour which put the promoter Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, in serious debt in the United States.

Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, was said to have invested up to $25,000 US Dollars in preparation and facilitating the tour.

The issue started after the promoter, Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, obtained USA Work Permit approval visa for Burna Boy, then Burna Boy failed to honour the contractual agreement.

The promoter, Niyi Fatogun, hired professional entertainment lawyer, Takena Barango to represent Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, on Wednesday May17th, 2017, at the Supreme Court in New York.

The judge ordered a court injunction on Burna Boy outside US Tour, until Burna Boy Ltd settles the promoter for the financial loss Vibesland Entertainment, LLC, suffered due to breach of trust.

Nollywood Veteran Actor, Saidi Balogun recently clocked 50 and he planned a 4-day celebration starting from today May 22 till May 25, 2017.

He has now postponed the celebrations till July 4, 2017 in honour of his three colleagues who recently died. In his words;


'the postponement is in honour of the the three fallen heroes in the Yoruba movie industry. Olumide Bakare, Prince Adesina Adesanya (Pastor Ajidara) and Moji Olaiya. Both Prince Adesina ADESANYA(Pastor Ajidara) and Olumide Bakare would be buried on the 25 and 26th of May, 2017 respectively.  It is in view of this that a July 4-7th, 2017 date has been chosen for the occasion.  We hope you will keep the date opened in your diary'.

TeeBillz opens up: I have saved many people from committing suicide

Nigerian Music Diva Tiwa Savage estranged husband, Tunji Balogun, popularly known as TeeBillz, has revealed that he has saved many people from committing suicide in recent weeks.

The showbiz promoter, who at the height of a marital crisis with Savage in April 2016 tried to take his own life by jumping into the lagoon around the Lekki area of Lagos, said that following that experience, God has been using him to rescue many people attempting to do a similar thing.

United in a colourful wedding ceremony in November 2013 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and blessed with a son – Jamil, the couple’s union began experiencing cracks not too long after following accusations of infidelity and insensitivity for the feelings of each other. By April 2016, the crisis became full-blown, leading finally to their separation.

Speaking exclusively to Saturday Beats earlier in the week, TeeBillz, who had been going through rehabilitation, said that God deliberately made him experience those challenges for him to become a better man and live out his purpose in life.

According to him, without being pushed to the limits by those personal and marital hurdles, he never would have become the man he is today.

He said, “The way I handle things now is completely different from how I acted in the past. I do better now because I know better. If I had gone through the experience before now, it probably wouldn’t make sense to me until I go through some challenging situations. But I thank God that I have been able to overcome all those through the guidance of my coach.

“I only recently understand what it means to have a purpose in life. I have saved many people from committing suicide even though I don’t come out to say it. I was suicidal myself but God preserved me so I could also save others. I just realised that He kept me to touch the lives of others. People surely have their opinion about me and the entire issue, but God sees my heart and knows how much of a new man I am.

“I am like Job in the Bible, God made me pass through all these challenges to make me a better person. I am only human, just like everyone else, so I am not immune to committing mistakes. My experience can be likened to a battle between evil and good. I am happy God redeemed me and pushed me on the side of good.

“I am not being religious, I am just grateful to Him for giving me a renewed mindset. This is one of the biggest things coaching has done to me.”

Asked if those he called friends stood by him during his moment of trial, the father of one did not waste time in giving his response: “God is the only friend I have.”

When probed further on whether he and Savage had settled their differences and what their relationship looks like these days, TeeBillz declined making any categorical statement, maintaining that “God is the only friend I have. He knows and has the best for me in His vineyard.”

The showbiz promoter, who credits his transformation to the tireless support of his life coach, Mr. Lanre Olusola, said that he is already assisting colleagues in the entertainment industry passing through depressing situations to deal with them.

He said, “I am already helping a couple of colleagues in the industry that require the type of coaching I have been through. I am open to working with others needing some sort of motivation and inspiration. Celebrities are humans too, our lives are out there for people to see but that does not mean we cannot make mistakes. The most important thing, however, is for one to surmount the challenge and triumph. I am happy with my life now.”

Ex- Big Brother Naija house mate, Bisola reunites with Iyanya as she signs new management deal

10 years after competing against each other at the debut edition of MTN project fame, ex-Big Brother Naija house mate, Bisola and singer, Iyanya are back on the same team. Bisola made her first big move after her success at the just concluded reality show by signing a deal with creative agency, Temple Management Company (TMC).

Bisola signed the management agreement with TMC on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in company of her representatives and senior TMC officials at the Victoria Island corporate office of the organization.

She now joins a growing list of superstars currently represented by the agency including Mavin Records, Iyanya, 9ice, Seye Ogunlewe, Ebi Onome, Marylove Edwards, Victor Ehikhamenor and Funmi Iyanda.

‘Settle your feud, we are not boys anymore’ — Faze tells 2baba, Blackface

Faze, member of defunct singing group Plantashun Boiz, has advised 2baba and Blackface, his former band mates, to resolve their feud.

The Kolomental singer made the appeal in an interview with HIP TV.

Since the group parted ways in 2004, Blackface has levelled various accusations against 2baba.

The latest was that the ‘African Queen’ singer sabotaged his efforts in the music industry.

“We are not boys anymore. Not Plantashun Boiz, we are Plantashun men,” Faze said.

“What I think is that 2face has played his part by keeping quiet about the situation, he’s not talking about it a lot and Blackface, I think he’s really bitterly hurt, but there are some things you don’t have to take to the media.

“I speak to him on the phone, we argue about that all the time. I think he should cool down. And then on my other side, I feel that 2face should take up his phone one day and say ‘Hey Black, how far, make we see now. Make we try iron this out‘.

“I don’t know what is actually going on. I have actually done my best to make things work out.”

Faze also revealed that the trio had recorded a song together even after a rift between Blackface and 2baba.

He said: “We actually met and did a song together. This is a secret nobody knows about. This was after the incident of that let somebody love you song. We recorded together and it was lovely and something we wanted to actually put out. Next two days, I’m seeing 2face saying Blackface has written something online. I said; what again? after the recording?

“Both of them know what’s going on. That’s what I just believe in. What I just want them to do is find time to see each other. When they don’t decide to sit down  together, I know that there’s something wrong.”

Faze said he has encouraged Blackface to stop going online to rant, noting that “he’s tarnishing his own name”.

“He should relax and focus on his music and let the thing go,” he said.

The first major rift between Blackface and 2baba was over ownership rights to ‘African Queen’.

2baba recently asked Blackface to apologise for the claims made against him or get sued.
