YOU ARE READING TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY FRIDAY MAY 12TH 2017
TOPIC: HE IS REAL (PART 2)

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

We established yesterday that the Holy Spirit is a person. He is a spirit being that cannot be seen with the physical eyes but you can know Him because He is closer than the very shirt on your body.

He has come to help you live the true life God has made available for you in Christ. Without Him, no one can truly have a relationship with the father. He is exactly like Jesus, a comforter, helper, standby, teacher, intercessor and more. So Jesus said “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” Jesus was a comforter and that’s why He said “another comforter.” However in the case of the Holy Ghost, you relate with Him from your spirit which isn’t difficult at all.

Remember He is not just an influence as some take Him, He is a person and He is real.

To enjoy His relationship all you need to do is first accept Jesus if you haven’t, then ask Him to fill you and He will because He loves to, if you also have already received Him, develop your relationship with Him.

TODAY THURSDAY MAY 11TH 2017
TOPIC: HE IS REAL (Part 1)

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

The precious Holy Spirit is the God with us and in us today. If any man claims he can feel the presence of God, it is made possible by the Holy Spirit. He brings us Gods presence and makes Christianity a life and not just a religion.

Some have erroneously referred to Him as just a force, some think He is just the power or anointing but the Holy Ghost is more than all that, He is a person. He has the anointing, force, power and more but He is a person with personalities and should be treated as one.

Just as every human person desires a relationship, the Holy Ghost also desires to have a meaningful relationship with the Christian. He loves to talk with us and have us talk with Him, He loves to be loved and desired, and He wants to be involved in our everyday life.

You can enjoy a life of victory by building a relationship with the wonderful, loving Holy Spirit. Cease from relating with Him as just a force or anointing you need to get something done. He is the best and closest friend you could ever have because not only can He be with you, He dwells and can dwell in you. So He is with you everywhere. He is real.

LEARN EXCELLENCE - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV.KEN ESEKHAIGBE

Rev Ken Esekhaigbe

YOU ARE READING TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV.KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY WEDNESDAY MAY 3RD 2017
TOPIC: LEARN EXCELLENCE

Learn to do well... - Isaiah 1:17

Excellence and high performance are not accidental, they aren’t occurrences of chance neither are they events of good luck. They are learnt.
Like our opening scripture spells out, a man can learn to do well. Doing well can be regarded to excellence and high performance at different areas.

There is no such thing as “I am just an average person.” Whatever you are is simply as a result of the level of knowledge and understanding you have acquired, so you can purposely choose to learn things that makes you excellent and work at them. You can learn certain traits, attitude and behavior that excellent people portray and imbibe them.

For example one major attribute of excellent people is diligence. You can learn to be diligent in what you do. You may never have been so, but you can choose to learn to be because you want to be excellent.

The bible says follow those who through faith have obtained. So in learning to be excellent, you can look out for bible characters who were known for their excellence and follow their principles. Good examples are Daniel, Joseph and Jesus. You can also have mentors in different areas that challenge you to do better.
Excellence is learned so learn to do well at all you do and always be at your optimal performance.

FURTHER STUDY: DANIEL 1:4

CONFESSION: I declare today that I walk in excellence.  I imbibe the proper attitude of excellence in every area.

TODAY MONDAY MAY 1ST 2017
TOPIC: DIVINE DIRECTION (PART 2)

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. - Psalm 32:8

We began the topic of divine direction in our last devotion and we will continue from there today. There is no leading in divine direction without instructions. If the Lord must divinely direct you, you must walk by His instructions.
The bible talks about how God led the children of Israel in the wilderness.

God led the children of Israel To Canaan by divine direction, but not without instructions. When you read through the book of exodus you will see how God led them by instructing them on so many things. Whenever He told them to stop, they had to stop and whenever He said move they had to move. There were certain significant instructions they had to follow. Those who disobeyed did not end well.

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: DIVINE DIRECTION (Part 1)

In your fulfillment of vision, as God begins to give you directions, there will also be certain significant instructions, some of which will be just for you alone as an individual and following these instructions will determine the extent you go in fulfilling vision.

Another thing about how the Lord led the Israelites was that He led them in comfort. By day He was a pillar of cloud unto them to protect them from the scourging heat of the sun and by night He was a pillar of fire to them to give them warmth from the cold at night. That is wonderful. As God leads you to fulfill vision, there will certainly be times of trials but always know that He is a God of all comfort and He will comfort you. Hallelujah.

DIVINE DIRECTION (Part 1) - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV.KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY SATURDAY, APRIL 29TH 2017
TOPIC: DIVINE DIRECTION (Part 1)

The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. - Psalm 23:1

In the past few days we have been on the topic of vision. It is important to know that in the pursuit of vision, there must be proper directions in order to get to that place you have seen else one might be misled.

David said, the Lord was his shepherd. Beloved who is your shepherd? Who is leading you in this journey of vision?

David went ahead to list the benefits of having the Lord as his shepherd. These things are testimonies of David’s experience of having God in his life as his shepherd.

ALSO READ THIS DEVOTIONAL: VISIONS (Part 3)

It is important to take note of the words David used. He said he shall not want because the Lord is his shepherd. In verse three he said…
he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness…

The Lord leads him in a righteous path and because he has the confidence that the Lord is the one leading him, he affirms that even though he walks in the face of death he would not be afraid. He went further to say that God prepares a table before him in the presence of his enemies, meaning there would be enemies, vision attracts helpers and enemies too, but when the Lord is the one leading you, those enemies don’t matter.

This particular scripture shows us that God never promised us an enemy free life in our pursuit of vision rather He lets us know that these enemies would gather around you and only watch you become all God has made you to be. So leave the league of those always complaining about what enemies are doing and start living the higher life with God as your Shepherd.

To be continued…

TOPIC: VISIONS (Part 3)

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. Genesis 11:4

We have looked at vision to some level now, but at this point, it is important we set some things straight.

Probably because we have talked about vision as being a picture of the future, some might misconstrue vision for ambition, and these are completely different things.

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: VISIONS (Part 2)

What those people had in our opening scripture is a good example of ambition, not vision, and ambition most times is against Gods purpose just like it was in our opening scripture.

Ambition is always self driven and self-centered which is not the case with vision. Vision is always about fulfilling a purpose and meeting needs regardless of self.

The first confirmation of a true vision is that there must be a purpose to it; the purpose of every vision is always spelt out clearly in the vision. Like in the case of Paul who had a heavenly vision on the way to Damascus, it was clear what God wanted him to do *But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this PURPOSE…… To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.* Acts 16:16a, 18. The purpose to a vision is always clear and vision is not manufactured by oneself, it is inspired by God.

This doesn’t mean we should sit and do nothing, there is a place of prayer and also staying around visionaries to help inspire vision but it is also important to know that our number vision after receiving Christ is already spelt out in Mark 16:15 *And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.* As you begin with this vision, God will unveil more to you through His Spirit.

TOPIC: VISIONS (Part 2)

For all the land which thou seest,.. Gen 13:15.

You need to have a picture for your future, because until you begin to see something, you can’t reach it. God speaking to Abraham said *For all the land which thou seest,*Gen 13; 15. God knew that in order for Abraham to fulfill destiny and become what God had called him to be, he had to use the power of vision. God wasn’t just referring to Abraham seeing with his physical eyes because that is limited, God was referring to the power of vision that helps you see beyond your surrounding and present circumstances.

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: VISIONS (Part 1)

God is always attracted to men who are running with vision, and it is the size of what you see that will determine the attraction of God to your life.

It is very difficult to frustrate a man who has seen, because once a man has caught a vision and embraced it, and is running with it, it is almost impossible to stop him. What he has seen would always propel him, the vision he has caught becomes his energy to pursue.

Joseph had a vision that one day he would rule over his brothers and when he told them about it, they got angry with him and wanted to do away with him. They succeeded in selling him off as a slave but this did not deter Joseph because he knew what he has seen. The same Joseph was imprisoned for what he didn’t do but still would not let himself be stopped because the power of vision urged him on. He finally became the ruler he always dreamt he would be and his brothers who thought they had killed his vision by trading him as a slave finally came around to bow to him, and he (Joseph) saved their lives (GENESIS chapter 37 – 45). It’s hard to stop a man who is running with vision.

TODAY TUESDAY APRIL 25TH 2017
TOPIC: VISIONS (Part 1)

Where there is no vision the people perish…….., (Proverbs.29; 18)

God is a God of vision, and every man that has excelled in God was a man of vision, because it takes vision to accelerate and make progress, vision is that force that causes a man to press for the prize of the high calling, vision is what gives a man on a mission the focus he needs to fulfill destiny.

Many people due to a lack of understanding of what vision really is, think seeing of visions is not for everyone and isn’t really important but that’s not true.

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: MANUAL FOR LIFE

Vision brings motion and where there is no vision, there will be no motion, and even if there is motion, it is most likely going to be in the wrong direction. In life, every man moves in the direction of what he sees, so what you are seeing at the moment determines the direction you will go in life, whether positive or negative. Therefore it is important for everyone to see something to propel him into the future, and that is VISION.

Let us take a look at the case of a growing child. Sometimes when you want to get the child to move in a certain direction or even get the child to walk at all, you place a toy in the direction you want the child to go and the child looking at the toy he wants to get, starts going in the direction of the toy. That toy in our study symbolizes vision, because vision defines the direction a man goes in life. Every man moves in the direction of what he sees and until you begin to see something your direction may not be accurate or there may even be no motion at all.

THE MANUAL FOR LIFE - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY MONDAY APRIL24TH 2017
TOPIC: THE MANUAL FOR LIFE

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1Corinthians 10:11

For every product that is purchased in the market there is always a manual that introduces you to how the product functions, its uses, how to benefit from it, how to properly manage and enjoy the product. Without going through the manual, one may still be able to make use of the product but will never fully maximize and enjoy it.

The same goes for you as a child of God who has received eternal life. You are Gods product, His life now resides in you and in this life is contained so much wonderful and beautiful things, you may however not fully benefit from these things if the proper knowledge is not in place. So God gave us the word as a guide, as a manual for our lives.

Like our opening scripture implies, the word of God is filled with examples of different men and women who actually lived thousands of years ago. Some in faith, some not, and the scriptures clearly points out to us the results of each. It shows us how God viewed all they did and Gods conclusion about their different actions.

With this in hand, you can tell the right course to take in life, you can know the mind of God concerning certain things, you can know the ways and actions of men, you can be wise concerning life. No wonder Paul writing to Timothy said “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise…..”

Through the help of the Holy Spirit, the scriptures can make you so wise in the affairs of life; it can culture, structure, discipline, correct, transform you and above all, help you live a beautiful life.

It is your manual for life so study it today to understand how to fully enjoy your glorious life in Christ. Have a great day.

TOPIC: LIBERTY ON ALL LEGAL GROUNDS
TODAY SATURDAY APRIL 22ND 2017

“For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.” Heb 9:16-17

As far as legal grounds are concerned in the spirit, the devil and his demons no longer have any hold on any man who has received Christ. They have no right over you but they will try to harass you if you do not know your legal rights as a child of God.

Christ has paid the price of all your sin and given you a new life. This new life comes with a divine inheritance. You must come to terms with your inheritance and the legal document that contains your rights and inheritance is the word.

ALSO READ THIS DEVOTIONAL: INSTRUCTIONS

It’s true the devil has his will for you but it is not suppose to be of any effect in your life, it has no legal power over you. The bible says in our opening verse “Hebrews 9:16-17 For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”

The testament is a will, and the bible says it can only take effect after the testator who is the owner of the will dies. The devil has not yet died and so his will cannot be of any effect in your life. Jesus on the other hand has died and has also risen, and so only His will can be of effect in your life if you stand on it and enforce your right.

The legal document that contains all the information of your rights, privileges and inheritance is the word of God. As you give yourself to the study of the word and take it into your spirit, you would be aware of who you truly are and the more your awareness, the more your enjoyment of your inheritance in Christ.

TODAY FRIDAY APRIL 21ST 2017
TOPIC: DO IT ALL BY FAITH

“….And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:” Genesis 4:4b

Our opening scripture is an excerpt from the bible story of two brothers who both offered their offerings to God and one was accepted, the other wasn’t. Looking at this scripture singly you may not get the full picture of what transpired.

ALSO READ THIS: PAY ATTENTION TO REAL YOU

It says God had respect for Abel and his offering and not for Cain, but we know from the scriptures that God is not a respecter of persons. It then means it wasn’t the person of Abel God respected, it was his faith. The Spirit of God revealed this in the book of Hebrews 11:4 “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” The bible says God Himself testified of Abel’s offering. How wonderful. God was however not partial, He respects and responds to faith. Faith is what pleases Him and without faith it is simply impossible to please Him no matter what we may seem to be doing.

YOU MAY ALSO LIKE THIS: YOU CAN WORK OUT YOUR SUCCESS

Faith doesn’t apply only when we want to receive from God, our service, our giving, all we do in His name has to be done by faith. God doesn’t respect the individual who seems to be doing it better in the sight of men; He respects the man who does it in faith. Faith is from the heart and responding, working, acting or doing our service by faith simply means doing it the way God says it should be done, acting and responding to what God has said, the way He said it.

Every service you render to God should be rendered with the spirit and attitude of faith because this is what makes it have value before the Lord. Have a great day.

TODAY WEDNESDAY APRIL 19TH 2017
TOPIC: PAY ATTENTION TO THE REAL YOU.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 1Timothy 4:8

From time to time, it is important to remind ourselves of who we truly are. As a man, you are not the flesh or body which you can see, you are a spirit. It is therefore surprising to see that most people even Christians pay attention to the flesh than to their true selves.

While it is okay to take care and exercise our physical bodies, Paul through the Spirit in our opening verse reveals that this does us little good when compared to the exercise of our spirit. This is so because the physical is a product of the spirit.

No matter how a man develops himself physically without spiritual development, he is still subject to the elements of this world.

The reason some have not been able to develop themselves spiritually is because they find it difficult to relate with spiritual matters, however, the truth is spiritual things are just as tangible and real as physical things, it all depends on your view point.

Just as a man eats physically to grow and have a healthy body, more importantly he needs to feed on the word of God for his spirit to grow and be healthy. An unhealthy spirit will lead to an unhealthy body with time. Also, just as we exercise our physical bodies, there are also spiritual exercises that build our spiritual muscles and God expects us to pay more attention to them than the physical ones.

Some of those exercises include, speaking in tongues, meditating on the word, intentionally practicing and doing the word. In the natural one can so exercise his physical sense in a specific study that he becomes a master at it, the same goes for the spiritual, you can exercise your spiritual senses to the extent that you become a master over spiritual things and a master over spiritual things is a master over the physical world.

God is a Spirit and only relates with us through our spirits so pay attention to your spirit man today because it is the real you. Have a great day.

TOPIC: YOU CAN WORK OUT YOUR SUCCESS

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

You can create a life of success for yourself. According to the scriptures, success can be worked out. Our opening scripture says “…..thou shalt make thy way prosperous” meaning it is in your hand. So the question is how can this be done?

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: INSTRUCTIONS

The scripture has given us one sure recipe for success and it broke it down for our understanding. First, it says the word of God should not depart out of your mouth. This means it has to continually be your confession. This is important because words are seed, and whatever seed you are planting today will yield a harvest of its fruits tomorrow. So if you are speaking words of blessings from the word upon yourself then you can tell just where you are going to be in the near future and vice versa. Then it says you shall meditate on it. This means you have to think on it, brood on the word.

Your meditations have the power to inspire your thought pattern and the bible says as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. So let your thoughts be inspired by what God has said about you. Then it says you shouldn’t end with just saying the word and meditating on it but go ahead to do. The book of James tells us to be doers of the word and not hearers only. So it is important you find out from Gods word your own part that you must do after you have meditated and declared the word.

You don’t declare and then sit and fold your arms; there is a place on acting based on the words you have declared.

Then it says, with your own hands, by your own self you shall make a success out of your life.

Success is not accidental, it is not by chance, it is created. Begin to create yours today by applying Gods principle for a prosperous life. Have a great day.

FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 1:1-3. Deuteronomy 29:9.

Thank you Heavenly Father for the wisdom of your word that is at work in me, causing me to prosper in all that I lay my hands to do and helping make a success out of life. I am successful and prosperous in Jesus name. Amen.

EASTER MONDAY APRIL 16TH 2017
TOPIC: INSTRUCTIONS

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. Luke 5:5

Instructions are our life, and the ones we have obeyed or disobeyed have played a major role on the outcome and experiences we’ve had in life. In the world today, we find so many, even Christians ready to carry out their Doctors instructions, lawyers instructions and it goes on and on.

ALSO READ THIS: THE IMAGE WITHIN

While all that is okay, it is important to understand that the source of the best instructions for our lives is the word of God. Sometimes we respond faster to the doctor’s instructions than we are ready to respond to Gods instructions and it shouldn’t be so. Our opening scripture exposes to us the case of Simon Peter who had toiled all night, tried with all the skills he had but caught nothing. He probably must have used all the skills his instructor gave him, yet he caught nothing.

In today’s world this can be likened to a man who has tried all he can to go further in his business and has used all he learnt in school from his instructors or from his masters yet no progress. Like Simon, all such a person needs is just a word from God. At the instruction of Jesus, Peter tried again on the same sea where it had not worked and suddenly he made so great a catch that he needed partners to help him with the catch. Thank God he listened and obeyed the words of Jesus.

It could be in the area of health, you may have tried so many doctors or physicians to no avail, what you need is God’s word concerning that situation. Just like in the case of Naaman, one instruction from Prophet Elisha which he reluctantly obeyed brought about his healing from leprosy.

There is actually no need for struggle in life if we will just hearken to Gods instructions to us through His word or through His servant sent into our lives. Be quick to obey the instructions of your man of God in any area of life, when God leads you through His spirit to carry out certain instructions, they may seem naturally unwise but your obedience to that simple instruction could be the key to your next miracle. Have a great day.

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

Beloved of God, what a great comfort our opening scripture brings to us today. This is Jesus speaking there, and he said that whoever follows Him won’t walk in darkness but shall have a life full of light.

Light is beautiful, it gives direction, it gives a focus. So imagine what your life looks like as one who has received Christ. There is no confusion about your life any longer, no uncertainty anymore because those are associated with darkness which no longer dwells in your life.

THE SEED OF FAITH - TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE

If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord, then you have the light of life. The bible you’re your path is as a shining light that shines more and more. Therefore walk in that light. Be conscious of this truth and never talk confused or as one who is uncertain concerning the future. You are no longer just trying to find your way through life; you are now on the right course. Like our opening scripture described, anyone who follows Christ has the light of life and since light gives direction, that person has the directions for life.

So Jesus also speaking in John 14:6 said “…I am the way, the truth and the life…” Hallelujah. So all that is required of you is to walk in this light of life that you have, which is walking in the word of God.

TODAY MARCH 30TH 2017
TOPIC: INCREASE IN STRENGTH

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

As a believer, there is no doubt that there would be trials on your journey of faith. The word of God has promised you lots of it. These trials are however not meant to make you stray or fall but they will if you do not have the required spiritual strength. Understand that the trials are not from God, but He allows some of them to strengthen our faith.

Like our opening scripture clearly points out, your fainting in the days of adversity is not because the challenge is too big, or the enemy is too strong, the reason is because your own strength is small. The Spirit of God channeled the reason for fainting to the believer. It then means that all I need to do as a believer is increase in strength and no trial will ever be an issue anymore.

ALSO READ: AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

The bible says in Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” That is your secret right there; the way to continually increase in strength is to wait upon the Lord. Waiting upon the Lord doesn’t mean you sit down and do nothing. You can wait upon the Lord through study of the word, prayers, engagement in ministry activities like evangelism, also attending the assembly of fellow believers where the word of God is shared.

Know this today, the question is not the strength of the challenge, it is the strength you possess. Increase in strength today by waiting upon the Lord constantly and no opposition will be able to stop you. Have a great day.

FURTHER STUDY: Colossians 1:9-11 Ephesians 3:14-16

CONFESSION

I decree that I am filled with strength in my inner man. As I stay on the word and prayer, I am filled with might for great exploits in God. Amen

MAINTAIN THE RIGHT ASSOCIATION - DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

MARCH 29TH 2017
TOPIC: MAINTAIN THE RIGHT ASSOCIATION

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 1Corinthians 15:33

Just as faith comes by hearing, so do many other things gain access to our lives through what we hear and also see. Attitudes, fear, doubts, unbelief, confidence and many other traits are formed in one’s life through the communication he engages. This is why a Christian is admonished several times in the scripture on the kind of association he maintains. Your kind of association, that is, the people you are involved with, discuss with, and listen to constantly, will determine the kind of communication you engage in and this has an effect on your life.

You can’t be too wise or tough about this, so long as a man continually gets the wrong information coming into his mind, he is bound to begin to tilt towards that direction with time. So the scripture made it clear in Psalm 1:1  “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly…..” Refusing to continuously listen or participate with anything that does not conform with God’s word for your life makes you blessed.

The eyes and the ears are two major access points through which contents gets into our hearts and whatever the contents of our hearts are determines our character, actions and outcomes in life. So it is important you maintain good and godly association that inspires the right communication in order to get the right contents in your heart. The bible says in Proverbs 13:20 “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Choose the right association today.

FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 1:1-4. 2Corinthians 6:14

CONFESSION: Thank you dear Lord for the wisdom to choose and maintain the right association. I walk with the wise for I am also wise because Christ is made unto me wisdom. Amen

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH -DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY: MARCH 28TH 2017
TOPIC: THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Psalm 92:12

Do you know every child of God was born to do big things. It is not something to be careful or humble about. It is a magnificent truth. It doesn’t matter the job, work or assignment in your hand. The infallible word of God said, The righteous shall flourish; therefore whatever is committed to your hand is commanded to flourish. To flourish means to grow, do well, increase greatly. You may ask, “Am I righteous?” Well, if you have received Christ, righteousness was inputed to you. Not because of what you did, it is simply a gift. So enjoy it and its dividends.

Never be too humble to think great, to visualize yourself as prosperous and influential. It is what your Heavenly Father has said concerning you and done for you. You shall flourish. Anything committed to your hands cannot fail. You may start out small, but the bible says though your beginning be small your later days shall be greatly increased. Take note it is not limited to the country you come from or your family background.

Anywhere you find yourself, you are expected to flourish.
So in all you do, after following the principles of God’s word, always expect, visualize, think and see nothing but increase and growth. Declare upon that business, that job, the assignment in your hands, that you are commanded to flourish. Never accept mediocrity, it is not a sign of holiness neither is it of God. As a Christian you are created to flourish. So flourish in Jesus name.

FURTHER READING: ZECHARIAH 1:17. PSALM 92:12-14

PRAYER: I declare today that I flourish in every area and every place I find myself, everything in my hands is commanded to grow and increase. I refuse mediocrity, I flourish, I increase, I multiply and become exceedingly great in Jesus name. Amen.

SUBMIT TO TRAINING - DEVOTIONAL WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY MARCH 25TH 2017
TOPIC: SUBMIT TO TRAINING

“And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained [servants], born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] unto Dan.” GENESIS 14:14

God has a laid out structure and system to help you grow and become very useful in the kingdom. It is the process of training. There are certain levels at which God wants to use us that requires the process of training. Everyone to be used of God must go through it.

In our opening scripture the bible records that when Abraham was to go rescue his nephew Lot he chose only trained servants. There probably were more men that could have been taken along for the battle but Abraham knew that if he added untrained men to the number maybe with the intention of having a greater army, they would end up wearying everyone. (Eccl 10:15)

So it is a principle God strictly adheres to. Responsibilities are given BY God according to different levels of training, and this is why Paul strictly charged that a man who wants to attain a certain level in the Kingdom must not be a novice. A novice is one lacking in the desired training. Paul said if such a person is given a task, he could end up destroying himself.

Training increases your value, it makes you useful and resourceful. No matter how great a man’s destiny is, without training he may never accomplish it, and this was what happened with Moses when he tried to be a deliverer without the required training (Exodus 2:11-14). Though he was actually born a deliverer, He made a mess of it. So God had to properly take him through the process of training under Jethro before bringing him back to fulfill his destiny. This is a life principle. Training requires time, so you must be patient to go through it, humble enough to submit to it, and ready to pay for it where need be.

Training are at different levels and stages, so submit to it today and become a man of extraordinary value that can be used by God. Have a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF: 1TIMOTHY 3:6. Eccl 10:15

CONFESSION: I submit myself in humility to every required training I need in life. I am sensitive enough to recognize and yield myself to the areas of training I require and grow into a man of extraordinary value. Amen

THE SEED OF FAITH - TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY MARCH 23RD 2017
TOPIC: THE SEED OF FAITH

“And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.” Luke 17:5

In the ministry of Jesus on earth, when His apostles at some point could not handle some situations like the storm at sea, the master attributed it to a little faith. So in our opening verse the apostles who were keen in watching Jesus do mighty works and wanted to do same said unto Him increase our faith.

So Jesus answered them in the next verse “And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” Jesus was not necessarily talking about the size of the seed like some think, the understanding He was trying to pass across was that faith is a seed, and every seed no matter how small could grow if only it is planted.

So just as no seed, whether mustard, orange, or mango would ever grow unless it is planted, so also your faith cannot grow and become more effective until it is planted.

Some believers wonder sometimes if they have faith, some even claim they don’t, but the truth is if you have received Christ then you possess a measure of faith because you can’t receive Christ without faith. The bible says “….as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3b. So what is expected of you as a believer after having received this measure of faith is to begin to plant it. How do you plant your faith?

In that same Luke 16:6 Jesus said when this faith seed is available “….Ye might SAY unto the sycamine tree….” He was showing them just how to plant the seed of faith available to them by SPEAKING forth words. The bible says “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17. Speaking is in two dimensions, whereby the Spirit of God speaks to you through the word or through the preacher or mediums like this very devotional.

Then the second part is after you have heard the word thereby receiving faith, you also go ahead to give a voice to the word by speaking it also, and that is when faith is planted. Paul speaking by the Spirit in 2Corinthians 4:13 said “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” When you have planted your faith by speaking words of faith, you must also now continually water it by continuous declaration of that word of faith.

Once you begin to talk about the problem again, you are digging out the seed you have planted and this is where some have got it wrong. You may have spoken a word of faith concerning your finance or health or any other area of your life, refuse to say otherwise regardless of how the physical picture may still appear.
For example you may say “the Lord supplies all my need according to His riches in glory therefore I will never lack”, after saying that, don’t turn around to begin to complain about the situation, rather water it by thanking God for supernatural supply and also walking with the consciousness of supply. And just as every other seed that is planted and well watered produces harvest.

Orange seed produce orange tree, mango seed produce mango tree, your faith too will eventually yield the harvest of what it talks about. Have a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF: 2 Corinthians 4:13

CONFESSION: Thank you Lord for the measure of faith, my faith is alive and active. It produces for me in every area of life. I refuse to walk by sight, I choose to walk by faith every day.
